Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Clover Road Christian Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these Biblical doctrines.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and that it is a divinely authoritative standard for every age and every life.
1 Corinthians 2:7-14 | 2 Peter 1:20-21 | 2 Timothy 3:16
We believe that the Godhead exists eternally in three persons--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit--and that these three are one God.
Matthew 28:19 | John 14:16-26 | John 16:7-15
We believe that God is the absolute and sole creator of the universe, and that creation was by divine decree, not through evolutionary process.
Genesis 1:1-2:25
We believe that God, by His sovereign choice and out of love for man, sent Christ into the world to save sinners.
Genesis 3:15 | Isaiah 53:1-6 | Matthew 1:21 | John 3:16 | Romans 5:8 | Ephesians 1:3-6
We believe that Jesus Christ, in the flesh, was both God and man; that He was born of a virgin and that He lived a sinless life, in which He taught and wrought mighty works and wonders and signs exactly as revealed in the four gospels, that He was crucified, died as a penalty for our sins and was bodily raised from the dead on the third day. Later He ascended to the Father’s right hand where He is head of the church and intercedes for believers, and from whence He is coming again personally, bodily, visible to this earth to claim His church for eternity.
Philippians 2:5-8 | Luke 1:26-35 | Hebrews 4:14-15 | 1 Peter 2:21-24 | 1 Corinthians 15:3-5
We believe that in His death, by His shed blood, the Lord Jesus Christ made a perfect atonement for sin. Mankind is saved on the simple and single ground of His shed blood.
Hebrews 9:11-14 | Hebrews 10:10-13 | 1 Peter 3:18 | Galatians 3:13-14 | 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
We believe that such salvation with its forgiveness of sins, its impartation of a new nature and its hope of eternal life is the pure grace of God. It comes as a result of one’s faith, repentance, confession, and baptism.
Ephesians 2:8-9 | Romans 10:9-10 | Acts 2:38
We believe that it is the goal of every Christian to grow in spiritual maturity through obedience to the Word of God and in the indwelling Spirit.
Ephesians 4:11-16 | 1 Corinthians 14:20 | Colossians 1:9-12, 28 | Colossians 3:12-17
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person, is God, and possesses all the divine attributes. He indwells all believers, baptizes and seals all believers at the moment of their salvation.
John 14:26 | John 16:8-11, 13-15 | Acts 5:3-4 | Rom. 8:26-27 | John 14:23 | Acts 2:38
We believe the church is the body of Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit and exists to save the lost and edify the saved.
